Got My Yellow Card
Five weeks to go and got my shots. Fortunately some of my shots from when I went to Tanzania are still good so I did not have to get that many. My yellow vaccination card now says I am impervious to Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Tetanus, and Yellow Fever! Things that I probably need for living in Chicago and riding the El anyway.

The Last Step
So my last step is my first for this. I've created this blog to keep family and friends up to date on my mid-life crisis step to go overseas this summer for 3-1/2 months to do volunteer work and travel. The people I need to tell at work now know so I feel like I can actually start talking about this without them finding out the wrong way.
I'm off to Botswana to perform conservation work in the Tuli Wilderness, Cape Town South Africa to teach surfing, and Urubamba Peru to teach English with Projects Abroad, and then at the end I'll be traveling across Europe for several weeks to kayak out of Dubruvnik for a week and visit Sarajevo, Prague, Berlin and Amsterdam.
Departure date is July 4th, my Independence Day, so six weeks and counting.
